⚽Football Camp⚽

Football Is Back!!!!!!
April half term saw a successful return of our sport specific football camp to our Melksham camp venue. The day which was attended by 30 young football fanatics from across the area, included a morning of fun skill based games to help build their confidence in a game and focused on team building.

The camp, aimed to provide participants aged 5 -11 with a engaging football experience. The day which incorporated team building, skill development and finishing off with fun tournament style games.

A highlight of the camp was our challenge of the day, The top bins challenge was selected to test our participants accuracy for the day. Each player stepped up and attempted to strike the ball into the hoop in the corner of the net. The first round saw what can only be described as some interesting attempts before the players got the hang of the challenge for the 2nd round with a number of them successful and even more hitting the rim of the hoop. Players winning the challenge also showed off their more creative sides when delivering the perfect celebration following completion of the challenge.

When speaking to the children who attended on what they enjoyed during the day one had this to say "I've had a great day I loved making new friends and scoring loads of goals. The best game we played today was King of the castle, trying to knock down our opponents castle was difficult but my team was the fastest and we won"

🌟The excitement peaked with the camp's tournaments, where the players had the opportunity to put their newly developed skills to the test. Divided into age-appropriate groups, the players competed in a series of matches that showcased their progress and also was a chance to help players to become leaders as they attempted to guide their selected team to glory.

The tournaments were structured to promote fair play and sportsmanship, with each game offering teachable moments that allowed children to problem solve and work together.
As the camp came to a close, each participant received a medal to showcase their achievements throughout the day.

The closing presentation featured a fun awards segment, recognising standout performers in various categories such as "The Fair Play Award" "Rising Star" and "Future Leader"🎖️
Our goal was to create a camp which was fun, inclusive and developmental. From the feedback received we can say that we achieved that goal with our first camp, we look forward to developing our camps as we learn and ensure that our little football fans of all abilities feel they can have a fantastic day with us. For those who attended our first camp thank you for joining us and we hope to see you in the summer. For those who are yet to join us for one of our football fundays, we look forward to meeting you.
